So, the interesting news this week is that Platypus Marine, Inc. (next to Westport Shipyard on Marine Drive in Port Angeles) wants to expand. They want to buy 5 acres that the Port of Port Angeles owns and is next to the Platypus Marine building. However, the Port of Port Angeles wants to rent it. Hopefully, the two entities can resolve their differences soon. I think that in this economically depressed area that it would be counter-productive to stall or even block this business initiative that could result in the apparent hiring of 75 workers.
