North Coast Hot Jobs May 26

Hello all. I hope you had a pleasant Memorial Day weekend. Thank you if you took a moment to recognize, in your own way, the sacrifices made by those individuals whose service to our country was abruptly ended during a time of conflict.

Here is the link to this week's North Coast Hot Jobs listing, http://www.scribd.com/doc/226044079/North-Coast-Hot-Jobs-May-26-2014

Not too many new job postings at organizational websites and the newspapers this week. I am not sure if that is related to the holiday weekend. I am sure it will rebound next week.

All government sites (federal, state, county and city) are relatively quiet this week. Nothing new.

The 7 Cedars Casino has 15 jobs opened at this time. However, only one of them is full-time.

That's all for this week. Have a good one.

Ok, here is the link to this week's North Coast Hot Jobs listing, http://www.scribd.com/doc/224804012/North-Coast-Hot-Jobs-May-19-2014

Job activity is fairly steady on the North Coast area. One business that has many new job openings is the 7 Cedars Casino. They have eight new jobs this week. However, they are only part-time. Employers do this so they don't have to pay benefits. Nonetheless, some organizations will award benefits to part-time employees.

The four area Safeway Stores have a total of eight jobs open at this moment. Manager openings also.

There are a total of sixteen Washington state jobs in this area. This includes the two that were added this week. These are usually good paying jobs with adequate benefits. It can be a good idea to apply for these jobs.

That's all for now. Have a good one.

First of all, Happy Belated Mother's Day to all that applies to. Next, here is the link to this week's North Coast Hot Jobs, http://www.scribd.com/doc/223418135/North-Coast-Hot-Jobs-May-12-2014. The reason why the jobs listing is posted on scribd, is because it is free. In addition, this blogsite, also free, does not have the capacity to post downloadable documents. So, I have to combine the use of two free services.

Seattle continues to move forward with it's plan to increase the minimum wage there to $15 per hour for all workers. This will take place over the course of three or seven years. More info here, http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepolitics/2014/05/01/murray-unveils-15-minimum-wage-plan-historic-moment-for-seattle/#22762101=0/. With the unemployment rate sitting at a very low 5.2% in King County, it is understandable that this is happening. When unemployment rates begin to get low, the available labor in the area gets shallower and employers become concerned about keeping their current employers as well as looking for more employers from other areas. As a result, pay goes up. If Seattle didn't take steps to attract employees, then employers might decide to move their businesses in areas where there is a larger available labor force. However, other businesses might move because the minimum wage is going up there. So, all this activity is happening because we are in the process of leaving an employer's market and entering an employee's market. At least in certain locations anyways. Not in Jefferson and Clallam counties.

We are having a surge of available state jobs in the area. Seven new state jobs have been added to the North Coast Hot Jobs listing. At this moment, there are twenty state jobs open in Clallam and Jefferson counties.

Have a good one.

For those of you in the Port Townsend area, the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce is now posting jobs at this link, http://jeffcountychamber.org/building-business/job-postings/.

There are seven new state job posting in this area. Four of them are in the Corrections Department and are located in Clallam Bay and Forks. Good paying jobs with good benefits.

The Quileute Tribe out at LaPush has eleven new openings. Some are seasonal, some are regular. See the hot jobs listing.

All regional newspapers continue to have many new job openings posted.

Have a good week.
