I posted the Safeway Port Townsend and Sequim jobs, but there are still too many openings in Port Angeles to post. Native Americans face challenges that some people never confront. In addition, Native Americans often have high unemployment rates. One program that is helping to combat this, is the American Indian Vocational Rehabilitation Services program (AIVRS). This is a federal program that is similar, but not the same as the state Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). The objective is to help disabled Native Americans find gainful employment. The Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe has been awarded a grant to help disabled Native Americans and Alaskan Natives living in this service area. This area is bordered on the east in between Sequim and Port Angeles, the Hoko River in the west and Sappho in the southwest. So, if an enrolled disabled native lives within this service area, then they are eligible for services to help them get employed. For more information on this, contact the Employment Program Manager, Nora Norminton, at 360-565-7257 ext. 7483.

So, I still haven't listed the Safeway jobs in the area. The last time I looked, there was 27 jobs open. Too much to post. Next week I will.

Another place that has many job openings is on the Lower Elwha Klallam reservation. There is 29 job openings last time I checked. To search for a job you don't need an account. Just put a zip code in the top of the page "Where?" box. Then, wait for a town to appear right below it. Select that zip code/town combination, then select the magnifying glass search button to the right. This will take you to the job listings. Be sure to pare down your selection to no more than 14 days. Sometimes, these online job boards don't delete jobs that have already been filled.

So, if you haven't noticed by now, WorkSource's website is down. It will not be up until May 3. Then, there will be many questions for some, even some of the WorkSource staff. Basically, you will have to create a Secure Access Washington (S.A.W.) account that will give you secure access to many state resources, not just WorkSource. More info to come on that.

I haven't been posting any Safeway jobs, because those jobs seem to be getting filled up by former Haggen's employees.
